IIECC Environmental Protection Industrial Park

2019/02/25

IIECC invited the world-renowned ecological architect Itsuko Hasegawa to design the master plan and integrated functional area for the IIECC (China) Environmental Technology Industrial Park. On January 23, 2019, Itsuko Hasegawa came to the Quanshan District Government of Xuzhou City for the first round of overall planning and design report.

The origin of the environmental protection industrial park

IIECC is a provider of air purification and gas phase filtration solutions. Its gas phase filtration media technology and air filtration system are widely used in industrial, municipal and other pollution concentration areas and tertiary industries such as medical and education.

In 2017, IIECC and the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly developed upgraded and high-efficiency gas-phase filtration materials to solve the technical problems that are common in the air purification industry.

During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the state vigorously developed the environmental protection industry, and air pollution control has become the top priority of the future ecological civilization construction. Under the common goal of environmental and economic benefits, the Xuzhou Municipal Government and IIECC began cooperation.

In 2018, IIECC and CAS settled in the Zhongguancun Information Valley in Xuzhou City, and another 68 acres of land in the Quanshan District of Xuzhou City was used for the construction of the IIECC (China) Environmental Protection Technology Industrial Park. The planned environmental technology industry park includes a number of sectors including corporate headquarters, experience center, CMA laboratory and production demonstration area. The completion of the environmental protection technology industrial park will become China's first large-scale environmental protection industry complex integrating air treatment, water treatment, soil remediation and environmental technology product research and development. It will also become the urban environmental protection community and the Education science base of Xuzhou citizens.

The birth of IIECC (China) Environmental Technology Industrial Park is destined to be a "big event", not only because it was first co-operated by many world-renowned ecological architects, but also because of its emergence to explore the ecological industry. The possibility of production, through the application of a number of environmentally friendly building technologies, the traditional factory workshop has evolved into an attractive demonstration space to create a green breathing complex and lead the future of industrial buildings.

Well-known ecological architects presided over planning and design

長谷川逸子 Itsuko Hasegawa, Well-known ecological architects.

Itsuko Hasegawa was born in Yaizu City, Japan in 1941. She became the principal of her own design studio in Tokyo, called Itsuko Hasegawa Architectural Design Studio in 1976, which was renamed the Architectural Design Studio in 1979.

Hasegawa is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and has received the Avon Arts Award, the Building Contractor's Society Prize for the Shonandai Cultural Center, the Cultural Award for Residential Architecture (Fukuoka, Japan), and a Design Prize from the Architectural Institute of Japan.

The ecological architectural works born in her hands are closely related to the soil that gave birth to it. Using natural environmentally friendly materials and energy-saving technologies, the cold and icy cement forests are constructed into a warm and vivid modern "breathing building".

At the end of 2018, IIECC invited Itsuko Hasegawa to cooperate with the world-renowned architect team to design the master plan and comprehensive functional area for the IIECC (China) Environmental Protection Industrial Park.

First round report

January 23, 2019, the Hasegawa team came to the Quanshan District Government of Xuzhou City to do the first round of the IIECC (China) Environmental Protection Technology Industrial Park overall planning and design report.

Secretary of the Quanshan District of Xuzhou City, the head of Quanshan District, the doctoral tutor of the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the president and vice president of IIECC listened to the detailed report on the design concept. The Hasegawa team showed the design models of the various programs to the participants. The leaders at all levels gave full affirmation and high evaluation, and hoped to incorporate more Xuzhou Han culture elements into the design.

Drawing on Xuzhou Han culture elements

After the meeting, the Hasegawa team visited the Xuzhou Hubu Mountain Ancient Building Complex and the Xuzhou Han Portrait Stone Museum.

The construction of Hubu Mountain is loaded with the vicissitudes of Xuzhou City for thousands of years. It is the epitome of Xuzhou's politics, economy and culture in the Ming, Qing and Republic of China.

The Han Dynasty portrait stone vividly depicts the system of the Han Dynasty's society, the clothing, food, shelter, and mythology. It shows the superb artistic standards of people two thousand years ago; it reproduces the high civilization of the material culture and spiritual culture of the Han Dynasty.

Conclusion

The exchange and communication set up a prototype of the Xuzhou government's expectation for the future of IIECC (China) Environmental Protection Industrial Park, and also made Itsuko Hasegawa understand the form and cultural accumulation of Xuzhou Han culture elements more deeply. We believe that in the next round of design, the Hasegawa team will integrate more "two Han culture" into the design of IIECC (China) Environmental Protection Industrial Park. Let us wait and see!
